Regulation of Payment Services Market: Comparative Study, September 2017
The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of the recent European Payment Services Directive (PSD2) in leading EU countries, such as: UK, Germany, France and Italy.
The study is focused on the implementation steps of the directive by the countries and the relationship between the regulation and the legal norms applicable to classic payment services (that are provided by expert banking institutions) and those applicable to new payment initiation service providers (PISPs). The study was conducted through a review of regulatory directives and legislation, policy documents, studies, articles, and unmediated information from government and commercial entities in the target countries.
