Regulation on the Fuel Economy

This study compares the regulation applied to a national fuel market, with similar rules adopted in other countries. It examined the type of regulation and its invasiveness and the expected impact on the fuel economy. The comparison was made to eight different developed western countries, which were carefully selected to ensure that the mix of countries included economies stronger as well as weaker than the Israeli state. Also, the chosen countries reflected different levels of market concentration and varying degrees of regulation. The study includes an analysis of the law in California, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Greece, and Ukraine.
